R2-D2 :Future Astromech!!

So which droid should I build? I could do R2 and be like everyone else? What if I go to an event and I want to bring R2, but someone else has one? Ah, I think I have a fix for that!

After researching and thinking which droid I wanted, I decided it HAD to be R2-D2! I mean come on it's R2! Everyone knows R2 because he is so iconic. So, if I'm spending a huge amount of money and time on a project it has to be R2.

But as I looked over all my pictures and figures I noticed something. R5-D4 has a different head and a few different color parts. So, I will be fixing my R/C R2 up to be interchangeable with R5 for events. This way if someone else has R2 then swap out the head, two doors, and two utility arms and I have an R/C R5!

Now..... wood or styrene....? ;)

Cyberman build begins!!!!

While waiting for the new year to arrive, I decided to start my cardboard Cyber man build. Cyberman is from the new BBC series called "Doctor Who". After getting sucked into a fandom, I decided to to this awesome creature!!

The plan is to the whole armor from cardboard, then in the spring resin, fiberglass, and bondo. If goes to plan I hope to have a costume ready for my FIRST DragonCon in 2011!!

After a few hours here is what I got done! Very pleased so far!!
